Mass Lung & Allergy

I went in for a sleep study, because while I have sleep apnea, it has not been officially diagnosed.

The facility was very nice, and the room fairly comfortable, except- even in cool weather- my room was too warm for comfortable sleeping. There was a fan and it helped, but the temperature did not get down to a comfortable sleeping level until the study was almost over. The bed was comfortable and adjustable, and there was a bathroom en suite.

Even without this, though, I have PTSD and the related hypervigilance, which generally means that I cannot sleep in my first night in a new place. And while I dozed some, I did not sleep- which frustrated one of the goals of the study. (I tried my best! Go-to-sleep meditations and everything!) It is also difficult since I generally need to get up every couple of hours to go to the bathroom (diuretics).

The technician who helped me was great- very patient with the bathroom breaks, and friendly and personable enough to put me at ease (Hi, Al!).

I hope enough data was collected to help me- but I cannot imagine a better experience for a sleep study.
