Cook's Plastering

He let us know in no uncertain terms that our job was not a priority. After being strung along for so long, we decided to cut our loss, pay him, and finish the job ourselves. No good recommendation here.

Took the initial payment at contract signing and never showed up. A simple job that I kept calling him to start with him promising to call back and never did. Useless operation period.

I was hesitant to call a contractor found on YP; however, after reading the reviews given here, I gave it a try and am very glad I did! Larry & his men performed drywall and painting work for us in a profession manner with fair pricing and attention to detail. I will be calling him back in the near future for wallpaper removal and painting. Highly recommended.

My fiance and I needed the ceiling redone in our 1950's home after a leaking roof had left ceiling and wall damage in one of the bedrooms. Previously we had had a very nice gentleman who did drywall and quoted us a number we were very sad to have to pay plus we would lose our alcove in the bedroom to drywall it. However, he recommended that we first try to find someone who did plaster. It was the kindest thing he could have done. So I got on the internet and started by looking for plaster repairmen in my area (Dearborn Heights). There was a short list but Cook's Plastering showed up then I googled reviews and was surprised to find one company with 8 5-star reviews (Cook's Plastering). I called and recieved a timely call back to schedule an estimate. Mr. Cook was punctual and well spoken his estimate was well below the cost of drywall and fit perfectly into our budget. Also, our appointment to have the work done was in less then 2 weeks! When Mr. Cook came over to do the work he was on time, quiet, so fast and very efficient. We barely knew he was there. When he was finished and showed us the room we were shocked at what he had done, by himself, and in such a short time. His work was amazing. Needless to say we asked for some business cards (which he never tried to push on us or even mention). I am so happy to have an "ace in the hole" so to speak for any future projects. Larry and his team came out to repair drywall and plaster in our 1936 built home. The repairs were awesome and Larry and his helper were the most personable and kind people you could meet. Highly recommended!

16 years ago they painted the inside of my home, and just last week did some wonderful plaster repairs of my home for a party. Professional, friendly, accommodating, punctual, returns calls quickly, solves the problem, was able to work on very short notice. Excellent.

I hired Cook's Plastering to repair my bathroom ceiling which was water damaged due to a leaky roof. Larry and his son were at my house the next day to repair the drywall and did an excellent job! They are honest, hardworking and very good at what they do. I found the pricing to be very reasonable. When the painter could not be at my house due to health issues, Larry stepped in and finished the job in a timely fashion and my bathroom looks brand new. I would highly recommend this company to anybody who needs drywall/plaster & painting work done on their home.

I've had Larry and his son replace plaster in my 1920s bungalow two different times. Once in June 2011, and just recently in October 2012. Both times they repaired the plastered perfectly. You cannot tell at all where their replacement work starts and stops. The work blends seamlessly with the existing surrounding plaster. They seal themselves inside the work area with floor to ceiling plastic, so there is minimal dust left behind. Their prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend. Note: they accept cash/check only, half down in advance, and half upon job completion.
