My tattoo experience has been small tats through the years, nothing as serious as what I’m getting now.  I knew I wanted a Superman tat for the longest, but still didn’t know what it would look like.  Setting up the appointment and my consultation was so professional and personable.  They WILL take care of you.  I will keep repeating Aniya’s words, “follow the process and trust the process.”  Jake is a TRUE ARTIST and can take ANY idea and make it into a masterpiece.  I have a story on my arm right now and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.  When it’s your time for your session, it’s just YOU.  No one comes into the shop, Jake doesn’t take phone calls/texts, he concentrates on you and the masterpiece he is creating.  And for anyone who is scared of the needle…you don’t need to be with him.  I dozed off when he was working on my arm!  He has a gentle hand and doesn’t dig into your skin—if you have experienced it, someone wasn’t doing it right.  I always feel comfortable and relaxed when I come in and that means a lot to me.  This is my tattoo home and Jake is my tattoo artist, will not go anywhere else because I KNOW I will not get the same experience.  “Follow the process and TRUST the process,” you will not be let down by working with them.

With this being my first tattoo as an 18 year old, this was the best first experience I have had. The artist is one of the most down to earth, talented, laid back person I have ever met. The staff was also supportive, thorough, and very professional. I would definitely recommend first time tattoo experiences for anyone from Tatlyfe.

When I started looking for a tattoo artist in this area, I read a lot of reviews (days and days worth), visited shops from here to Hilton Head, and spoke to lot of people because tattoos aren’t just a way of expressing yourself; tattoos are an investment, and I don’t trust my investments to just anyone.

I’m really fussy about three key elements: the shop, the artist, and the ambiance. These are the things that will elevate your ink AND your experience, which is just as important. As I said, I visited shops in two states, and spoke to a lot of people, but let me tell you… the minute I spoke to Aniya, I knew Tatlyfe was the only choice to make. She took the time to explain every detail of their process to me, discuss my budget, and my concept, and things only got better from there.

Meeting with Jake, the absolute Michelangelo of tattoos, was phenomenal. I had an open, one-on-one discussion with him, explained my concept and my purpose, and he took off with the idea. He invested his time in ensuring that I get the most meaningful, perfect tattoo for me.

The shop is immaculate, and my favorite part is that only one client at a time is in it. There are no people wandering around, contaminating your sterile, clean space, or breathing on your work while bending down to see what you’re getting. It’s soothing, and the energy is so calm and relaxing.

This shop, and these people, are genuine magic. If you’re looking for a quick, easy, picked-out-of-a-book image that hundreds of other people have, this is not the place for you.
