William J. McGrath graduated from Thayer Academy and subsequently received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Rhode Island in 1971 and his Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School in 1974. William was an Assistant District Attorney in the Norfolk County District Attorney's office in 1975, and an Assistant District Attorney in the Suffolk County District Attorney's office from 1975 through 1979. William started his own practice from 1979 until 1989, when he joined with James A. Marsh to form the law office of McGrath & Marsh. William has extensive litigation experience in all areas of domestic relations (divorce, post-divorce, paternity and adoption), including mediation. William's other areas of practice include civil litigation, real estate transactions, landlord-tenant law and criminal law.

James A. Marsh earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, graduating Cum Laudi from Curry College. He received his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Suffolk University and his Juris Doctroate from Suffolk Law School being admitted to the Mass. Bar in 1977. He was research director for a large retailing organization before beginning his career in law. From 1977 to 1989 he was engaged in private practices in Stoughton and Quincy. His practice at that time was predominately in the criminal law and estate planning fields. In 1989 he and Mr. McGrath established the firm of McGrath & Marsh. He now concentrates a substantial part to the planning and probating of estates and in the field of Elder Law and Medicaid entitlements. An experienced criminal attorney Mr. Marsh’s consults with and represents clients (both adult and juvenile) on such charges as driving while intoxicated (OUI), domestic abuse (restraining order violation), drug law violations and motor vehicle violations. He represents and advises profit and non-profit organizations. He and Mr. McGrath both provide services for businesses through incorporation, LLC, LLP, partnerships, and sole proprietorships. They also handle personal injuries matters, real estate transactions, and bankruptcies.
