If your fence is leaning on one side, the first thing you should do is determine the cause of the problem. Is it because of rotting wood, broken posts or weather damage? Once you discover the reason, you can then find creative ways to fix the fence. For example, you could replace damaged wood posts with stronger concrete ones or use steel cables to support the fence.

If your fence is leaning or sagging, it can be a fairly expensive problem to fix. If you don't close the gate properly, your hinges might sag and prevent your gate from closing securely. Prevent these situations by performing regular maintenance on the fence.

The reason your fence is leaning is that one or more of the main posts are going bad. You will need to eventually repair that post but there are a few temporary solutions. A steel wire method is one way by making diagonal tension to hold the fence in place. You could also use a Simpson Strong-Tie E-Z Mender which is placed on either side of the bad post to help reinforce it.
