Well folks here i am again in search of a fabulous restaurant with a view? Well Houstons has the view. Went early and was told it would be 1 1/2 hours for the view. WHAT? OK no view. Started with 2 standard Margaritas. ($28 bucks) More ice than cocktail! A foamy mess in a rocks glass. Something about the ice and water. It Smells and tastes bad. Probably non filtered? So get a coke instead. Started with the house salad $9.00 a mandolined salad of herb and greens chopped so small you can”t get it on the fork. I small tomatoe sliced in 1/2. and bad blue cheese dressing. The prime Rib was ($39.00) very nice done well with bone in,side of creamed corn, and a tasteless au jus. The meat and corn to say was over salted would be an understatement. Ther place was getting packed as i left. Pretty atmosphere and wait staff was great.
Houstons is a perfect example of a tourist restaurant trying their best to serve locals. And unfortunately not succeeding! Try Abe and Louies better food same price!
After eating here for years my family & I can no longer visit this restaurant. They recently removed all booster seats & high chairs. Guessing they do not want children in there establishment so I took my 3 year old and wife to Ruth Chris instead!! Wow what a step up for the same price, looks like Ruth Chris will now see us monthly instead of Houston's Pompano.
I visited this place with my cousins last week and had expected best food. Well, food was good and services too but it could be much better than it had. I hope next time I will visit this place again they will have the best food and service that I expect from them.
This place is really very clean and tidy. They have good staff too. The food is not so that good as the stuffs we ordered were not that spicy we expected to be. It’s like above average place but not that much great....
We read some of the older reviews (2007) and want to set the record straight. We are concluding a week here in Pompano Beach. We ate out six nights and five of them were at Houstons. Having grown up in the restaurant business, I can be very critical. However, Houston's staff left nothing to chance and all five evenings were superb. My wife had fish dishes and I stuck to the meat (steaks and chops). Their baked potatoes and Caesar salads were gourmet quality. I could not make one suggestion as to how they could have made it better.
