The Great Wazu

If you are looking for a fabulous sub sandwich of any kind, this is the place to go! I first met the owner, Joe and his brothers when they were working at another sub shop as young men. I was talked into trying (reluctantly) a tuna and cheese sub with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, oil and vinegar. I couldn't believe such a thing could be put together and taste so good, but I tried it anyway. 37 years later, I am still a constant customer at Joe's Great Wazu and I am still the biggest fan of the #18 (Tuna and Cheese). In fact, when I stop in, as I did again today, they will just ask me how many of them I want! Their tuna is expertly blended with the best tuna in water, the provolone cheese, which is my favorite, is sliced fresh, the rolls are just the right blend of crusty on the outside and not too doughy on the inside. The onions and tomatoes are always the best you can find and the oil and vinegar and seasonings are the perfect blend of flavor to make your mouth water for more. These are such a hit in my extended family and friends circle, that I am REQUIRED to bring them with me when I visit PA, CA and MN. I have securely packed them in foil, newspaper, dry ice and coolers in order for them to arrive fresh and tasting like they were just made. And, if you like fresh lemonade, you will always find a new batch each morning that is so flavorful, you think you squeezed it yourself. If having the best ingredients for the best sandwiches isn't enough, the staff is always so welcoming each and every time you come in. Not only do they have time to greet and chat with you, they process your order so quickly in their assembly line of great people, you never give it a second thought that the line may appear long. It moves so fast, you're in and out before you know it. I can't imagine not having The Great Wazu around, as well as the remarkable people who make it the best sub sandwich shop anywhere!
