Carpenter ants nest in moist wood such as rotting trees and stumps, and logs or boards on the ground. Nests have been found in tubs, sinks, showers and dishwashers, under roofing and in attic beams. They remove wood as they create galleries and tunnels. Indoors, carpenter ants feed on meat and sugary foods.
Spiders
The common house spider is the spider most often encountered indoors. It is a nuisance pest, probably more because of its webs than the spider itself. However, other spiders found in this area can be a bigger problem.

Bed Bugs
It’s possible to pick up bed bugs almost any place – they’ve infested offices, stores, hotels, gyms and countless other places we never would have imagined just 10 years ago. They can hide in your luggage, personal belongings, or even on you, and hitchhike a ride back to your home, condo, townhouse or apartment. Once indoors, they can be extremely difficult to eradicate without the help of an experienced pest control professional.
Fleas
Fleas are external parasites which can be found attached to the skin of their hosts. Adult fleas are about 1/8 inch long. Their bodies are shiny and reddish-brown in color. They are covered with microscopic hair and are compressed to allow for easy movement through animal fur.
Cockroaches
For every one roach you see, there are 30 living in your walls. They carry 33 different diseases and infections. One pair of German cockroaches could grow to a massive family of more than 100,000 in just 3 months. German cockroaches rely on you to provide food and water in order for them to survive.
Silverfish
Silverfish are small insects with no wings. The name is derived from their silver color and fish-like appearance. They may also be called fishmoths, paramites or carpet sharks.
Bees
Wasps and bees are beneficial insects, although they are generally considered to be pests because of their ability to sting. Wasps, in particular, can become a problem in autumn when they may disrupt many outdoor activities.
Wasps
Examine glasses, cans and other containers before drinking from them to check for wasps that may have flown inside.
Ticks
Ticks are bloodsucking parasites that are often found in tall grass and brush. There are more than 850 species of ticks worldwide, at least 100 can and do transmit more than 65 diseases. Ticks can be found in the woods, lawns, meadows, shrubs, weeds, caves, homes and cabins.
Crickets
As one of the fastest-growing pest control companies in Nebraska, we offer a full range of services for both residential and commercial customers. These services include treatments for rodents, bedbugs, ants, spiders, crickets, termites, bees, wasps, cockroaches and silverfish.
Mosquitoes
Enjoy your outdoor spaces without battling those pesky mosquitoes in your yard. Fight back against the constant biting and scratching with our Mosquito Control Service options performed by our Licensed and Trained Mosquito Control Technicians.
Flies
Fruit flies can be a nuisance all year round, but they become especially active – and plentiful – during the late summer and fall when fruits and vegetables reach maturity and are picked. In addition to tomatoes, melons and squash, fruit flies are also attracted to rotting bananas, potatoes, onions and other unrefrigerated produce. Females lay up to 500 eggs, and the larvae feed on the yeasts in the fruit.
Centipedes
Millipedes
Beetles
Beetles are found on land and in fresh water and can adapt to almost any environment. Beetles usually just live where they eat.
Hornets
Wasps are venomous. Wasps, bees and hornets can pose a serious health hazard to anyone with allergies, including swelling, hives, difficulty breathing, and in some cases even death. Wasps can make nests in the eaves and ledges of your home, trees, in the ground and even inside your home.
Moths
Fabric pests such as clothes moths can sometimes cause irreparable damage to personal belongings. These moths are able to digest animal hairs and feed on almost any item made of natural fibers, particularly wool and cashmere.
Pantry Pests
Indian meal moths are the number one pantry pest. It infests stored grains, fruits, dried nuts, powdered milk, vegetables and, particularly, dried pet foods by flying at night and laying eggs on these foods. The moths typically are introduced to homes unsuspectingly, through foods already infested with the pest. Their life cycle is approximately six weeks long.
Mites
“Mite” is a term commonly used to refer to a group of insect-like organisms, some of which bite or cause irritation to humans. While some mites parasitize animals, including man, others are scavengers, some feed on plants, and many prey on insects and other arthropods. In fact, there are nearly as many different types of mites as there are insects.
Pill Bugs
Pill bugs prefer dark and moist places to live, such as in soil or under rocks. When inside a house, they frequently die due to the lack of moisture. However, if they do thrive, there may be a serious moisture problem within the household.
Sow Bugs
Pill bugs, also known as sowbugs or wood lice, are familiar backyard creepy crawlies to most of us. They are effective pests, since they have no specialized predators. There are 12 species of pill bugs found in the northern and central United States.
Boxelder Bugs
The boxelder bug population lives on maple and seed-bearing boxelder trees during the warmer months. In fall, boxelder bugs congregate on the south side of rocks, trees and buildings where the sun hits. After large masses gather, they migrate to nearby buildings or homes to spend the winter, hiding in small cracks and crevices in walls to insulate themselves from the cold winter temperatures.
Bats benefit our environment by consuming large quantities of insects and pollinating crops and other plants. But they also carry rabies, which can be harmful or fatal to humans. Bats can flatten their bodies to 1/4 inch thick; if you can fit a quarter through an opening, a bat can squeeze through it, too.
Moles
You work hard to make your lawn look its best. But pesky moles think it’s a 24-hour buffet, featuring all of their favorites: earthworms, grubs and other surface insects. Nothing can prevent moles from coming into your yard. Getting rid of them can become costly.
Raccoons
Raccoons, possums and woodchucks will eat almost anything. Raccoons and possums are usually nocturnal animals, while woodchucks are daytime animals. They usually enter homes near places where trash is kept. These pests carry a number of diseases, including rabies. Their feces can carry roundworm.
Controlling pests in your home, office or businesses is a year-round effort. Insects and rodents don’t take vacations, and they don’t disappear because the weather has changed.
Mice
Mice can contaminate food, spread disease and cause allergies. House mice are a significant pest in the United States and cause an estimated $20 million in damage to stored feeds and structures in Nebraska every year.
Rats
The most well-known rat species are the black rat (Rattus rattus) and the brown rat (rattus norvegicus.) Rats are bigger than most of their relatives, the old world mice, but seldom weigh more than 500 grams in the wild. The common term “rat” is also used in the names of other small mammals which are not true rats.
Squirrels
Voles
Voles are small, weighing 1 to 2 ounces as adults. Their overall adult body length varies from 3 to 5 1/2 inches in the pine vole, to about 4 1/2 to 7 inches in the meadow and prairie voles.
