Oral Cancer Screening
Our office is not only dedicated to your smile, weâ€™re also dedicated to your overall wellness. We take a holistic approach to your dental care, which includes an oral cancer screening as a part of your regular exam. Like other kinds of cancer, oral cancer can be life-threatening if not diagnosed and treated early.

Teeth Cleaning
Your regular exam will take about one hour. Each regular exam includes a detailed teeth cleaning, during which we will clean, polish, and rinse your teeth to remove any tartar and plaque that have built up on the toothâ€™s surface.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride is effective in preventing cavities and tooth decay. It also prevents plaque from building up and hardening on the toothâ€™s surface. A fluoride treatment in our office takes just a few minutes.
Dental Sealants
Sometimes brushing is not enough, especially when it comes to those hard-to-reach spots in your mouth. It is difficult for your toothbrush to get between the small cracks and grooves on your teeth. If left alone, those tiny areas can develop tooth decay. Sealants give your teeth extra protection against decay and help prevent cavities.

Fillings
Crowns can be made of porcelain, metal or both. Porcelain crowns are most often preferred because they mimic the translucency of natural teeth and are very strong. Crowns are also often preferred to silver amalgam fillings.
Resin Composite
Newer dental fillings include ceramic and plastic compounds that mimic the appearance of natural teeth. These compounds, often called composite resins, are usually used on the front teeth where a natural appearance is important, but they can also be used on the back teeth, depending on the location and extent of the tooth decay.
Veneers
Dental Veneers Â are thin shells made of dental porcelain that are placed onto the fronts of your natural teeth. They provide an aesthetic solution to various tooth imperfections and can change tooth size as well as color, and shape.
Crowns
Dental crowns can be used for a variety of different cosmetic and oral concerns. Although their name may insinuate that if you get a dental crown, you will all of a sudden be royalty, thatâ€™s unfortunately not the case. But if you are looking for a cap to cover your tooth to help restore its shape, size, or appearance, then a dental crown may be the right thing for you.
Bridges
We use dental bridges Â to replace missing teeth with artificial teeth to literally bridges the gap where one or more teeth may have been. Bridges alsoÂ help maintain the shape of your face and alleviate stress on your bite.
Dental Bonding
Bonding is a conservative way to repair slightly chipped, discolored, or crooked teeth. During dental bonding, a white filling is placed onto your tooth to improve its appearance. The filling â€œbondsâ€ with your tooth, and because it comes in a variety of tooth-colored shades, it closely matches the appearance of your natural teeth.
Restorative Dentistry
Upon returning to Boston, he opened his private practice in association with Dr. Walk in Newton. Dr. Bamel taught at the Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry from 1985 to 1995 as a clinical instructor for restorative dentistry.

Root Canal Treatment
Dr. Jonathan Bamel graduated from the Boston University School of Dental Medicine in 1983. He spent the following year at the Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn to complete his residency program. During that residency, he received extensive training in dental surgery and endodontics (root canals).

Dentures
Dentures are natural-looking, removable replacement teeth. This appliance is a solution for missing teeth and surrounding tissue in the mouth. There are two types of dentures: full and partial. Full dentures are given to patients when all the natural teeth have been removed. Partial dentures are attached to a metal frame that is connected to your natural teeth. This prosthesis is used to fill in space where permanent teeth have been removed, and it also prevents the surrounding teeth from shifting.

Pocket Depth Reduction:Â In a healthy mouth, the teeth are firmly surrounded by gum tissue and securely supported by the bones of the jaw. Periodontal disease damages these tissues and bones, which leaves open spaces around the teeth that we call pockets. The larger these pockets are, the easier it is for bacteria to collect inside them, which leads to more and more damage over time. Eventually the supportive structure degrades to the point that the tooth either falls out or needs to be removed.During pocket reduction procedures (also known as â€œflap surgeryâ€), we fold back the gum tissue and remove the bacteria hiding underneath, as well as the hardened plaque and tartar that have collected. We may also remove any tissue that is too damaged to survive. We then sew the healthy tissue back into place. Now that the tooth and root are free of bacteria, plaque, and tartar, and the pockets have been reduced, the gums can reattach to the teeth.

Wisdom teeth are molars found in the very back of your mouth appearing in the late teens or early twenties. If they become impacted (fail to erupt) due to lack of room in the jaw or angle of entry, we perform wisdom tooth extraction to provide optimal space and health for your surrounding teeth.

Orthodontics
Invisalign has become a popular method of straightening teeth. As precise and effective as it is, this system is not appropriate for everyone. Patients with a severely misaligned bite or malocclusion may need conventional orthodontics to achieve the best results.
