Veterinary Ophthalmology
Glaucoma is a common condition in which the fluid pressure inside the eye increases, resulting in damage to the optic nerve, followed by loss of vision and blindness. There are two types of glaucoma. Primary, or chronic, glaucoma is hereditary or develops as your pet ages. Secondary, or acute, glaucoma develops as the result of an injury or illness. Because secondary glaucoma can progress rapidly, it is considered an emergency situation.
Comprehensive Examination
Lassiter Animal Hospital offers preventive care and services for kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs. Bringing your pet to one of our veterinarians for a physical exam is the smartest and easiest way to keep them healthy.
Heartworm is not only a disease for dogs; cats can get Heartworm, too. Learn more by visiting KnowHeartWorms.org or The Feline Heartworm Society.
Vomiting Treatment
Skin Condition and Allergy Treatment
We can diagnose and treat numerous skin conditions including allergies, autoimmune conditions, dermatitis, infections, hormonal disorders, parasites, tumors, and skin cancer.
Both puppies and kittens should have certain diagnostic tests over the course of their first year. Puppies should be tested for heartworm by 12 months of age, if not before. Kittens, on the other hand, should be tested for feline leukemia (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) during their first exam.
Ear Infection Treatment
Exams allow our veterinarians to detect problems and diseases that might go undiscovered otherwise, including heart murmurs, tumors, enlarged organs, cataracts, ear infections, ear mites, dental disease, skin issues and allergies.
If your pet has been diagnosed with cancer, chemotherapy may be an option for them. At Lassiter Animal Hospital, our veterinary oncologist can discuss treatment options including chemotherapy. Chemotherapy can slow the spread of cancer, shrink tumors prior to surgery, and buy precious time with terminally ill pets.
Lassiter Animal Hospital provides veterinary surgical care and services for cats and dogs. Using state-of-the-art equipment and an experienced team, we’ll provide your pet with high-quality surgery in a safe, stress-free and relaxing environment.
Spaying and Neutering
In addition to examining your new pet and providing them with vaccines and diagnostics, your veterinarian will discuss other services that could help them live a longer, healthier life, such as spaying and neutering.
At Lassiter Animal Hospital, our goal is keeping your pet happy and healthy. Thanks to modern diagnostics and our on-site laboratory, we're able to do just that for sick and injured pets.
