I was very disappointed with my experience here, especially after reading the other glowing reviews. I had a miserable four months leading up to my visit: At least three other repair shops failed to diagnose the reason my car would not start intermittently. One out-of-town shop replaced my battery (I travel for work); another in town replaced a few ground wires. NONE of them recommended a starter replacement.
After looking online, I decided to try C.A.R.S. The manager assured me that no unnecessary repairs would be recommended. Somehow it was determined that a new starter was necessary, and $335 later, I was sent on my way with promises of a consistently running car. However, my remote starter no longer worked. I was told they knew nothing about remote starts, and I had to take the car back to where it was installed to fix that particular problem (even though it was caused by their work).
Two days later, in a parking garage downtown, my car didn't start. When I called C.A.R.S., I was told have the car towed myself. I had used my yearly AAA allotment for this problem, so C.A.R.S. recommended a company that would tow for $90. What company doesn't stand behind their own work enough to offer a tow for an unfixed issue? The garage security helped me start the car (which wouldn't take a jump) and he suggested the problem still might be the battery.
I immediately drove the car to a local affiliate of the company that replaced the battery. The remedy to my problem? A very-corroded ground wire. Within 30 minutes, the wire was sanded - FOR FREE, reattached, and my problems were over, except that I paid $335 for a new starter that I didn't need and my remote start still does not work. At least I've narrowed down the list of places to take my car; it will NOT include C.A.R.S.
First-rate. Highly professional. Trustworthy. They do great work.
Professional mechanics and excellent customer service. Competitively priced and trustworthy.
I have been going there for years, and have always found them to be trustworthy, fast, and friendly.
The way you helped me without an appointment meant a great deal to me and I would tell them about my experience.
Very good work. Very pleasant to work with. Very customer focused. Very fair pricing.
I just gave another referral card to an employee of mine. Service, quality workmanship at a competitive price--AND Joanie & Steve Pratt.
attention to detail, good follow through, honest appraisal
It is an honest repair shop, not just trying to get the most money from you.
They take the time to diagnose and research the problem. Honest and friendly.
