Bob Taylor's Ranch House

I have been going to the Ranch House for years. The food, staff, and atmosphere are all superb. I recommend it to all. They have a fabulous and varied menu.

I went in a few weeks ago with a friend who flew in from out of town. She had the Chicken Cordon Bleu and I had a Porterhouse Steak. I asked the server for it to be cooked Medium to have a little pink in the center. My friend's chicken was fine as she enjoyed it but my steak came out Well Done. I told the server about it and apologized and went to get another one. The second steak came out and was just right. Nice server, however the oil used to cook some of the food tasted rancid, but the Key Lime Pie was delish.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary. He ordered the rib-eye and I ordered the chicken cordon bleu. My husband's steak was delicious. Tender and juicy. But my chicken tasted like the bottem of a deep fryer. I hate being that person to exchange a meal, but it was too unbearabe to push through. Not for 30 bucks any way. After a lot of scowling from my waitress my steak finally came out, long after my husband finished his dinner. I wouldn't recommend the shredded potato mash they serve as a side either, unless over seasoned and salted is your thing.

it has been open for like 1/4 century; had great character & its own charm. steaks cook exactly as you want them; all on an open fire. not fancy. enjoy!
