If you think you have more going on than a cold/ sore throat I wouldn't waste my time going here! I have been twice and both times all they tested me for was the flu and strep. I knew I didn't have either. The last time I ended up in the er afterwards and was septic from a bladder/ kidney infection, they never even mentioned checking my urine. Also had a chest X-ray done that they said was negative yet the one I had in the er showed pleural effusions in both lungs and atelectasis. Waste of time and money. Wait times are horrible.
I believe my daughter received good care, but they were trying to close early to go to a staff members wedding. I felt I was rushed in and out- and I could feel they felt annoyed I walked in with a sick child as they were trying to close early. However, once they realized she was very sick and having difficulty breathing, there demeanor changed. Wasn't really overly or underly impressed.
The ER Alternative was new to LaGrange so when I got sick I thought I would try it out. The office is decorated really cool and has a "country feel" to it. I have Tricare insurance and when I asked the front lady if they take Tricare insurance she said that they did. So i filled out my paper work and after about 20 mins was taken back to a room. When I got back to my room, I then began to hear a conversation betweeen the Dr. and another lady (who was clearly a friend and not a paitent). They talked about everything from guys, to getting botox treatments, and about eating lunch. This conversation went on for AT LEAST 30 mins. When it was FINALLYover, the Dr. came in with a SHORT dress and cowboy boots. Talk about professional, right? After getting a couple of tets (strep and flu), I was finally out the door 2 hours later. A while after my visit I get a call saying that I owe them over $100.00 because my insurance did not cover it because I needed a referal from my Dr. They did not tell me this when I asked if they took my insurance (see above). And, If I had a primary Dr. in town don't you think that I would have went to see him when I was sick instead of going to the "ER Alternative". So, I think that should have been somthing that was told to me before I was seen. Now I am stuck with a nice bill after a visit that lasted as long as if I would have went to the REAL ER. Not a fan!!
