Dr. Brian D. Clarke was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Indiana University in Bloomington in 1981 where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa as a junior and presented the Senior Award for the highest achievement. He attended Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society as a junior and graduated in 1985 with highest distinction. He completed his training at IU Medical Center in internal medicine residency in 1988 and in gastroenterology fellowship in 1990.

Endoscopy
His interests and expertise in gastroenterology are quite broad. He is very skilled in routine endoscopy and can perform advanced procedures such as therapeutic ERCP, sphincter of Oddi manometry, percutaneous endoscopic jejunoscopy tubes, Barrett’s esophagus ablation and EMR (endoscopic mucosal resection). He pioneered bariatric GI endoscopy, providing training to other bariatric endoscopists. He offers videocapsule endoscopy through his office in Carmel. He is skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease and provides in-office Remicade infusion therapy. He also is skilled in hepatology and liver biopsy for evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic liver diseases including hepatitis C.
