I have been nothing but impressed with the professionalism and talent the trainers at Bark Tutor have shown. Our puppy absolutely loved to go there every day and was so much better behaved when he was done. The preschool sessions really gave him a basis for behavior that would have taken much longer at home. In addition, it gave him much needed socialization during the days during a critical learning period that has made him more confident and less fearful towards other people and dogs. I absolutely love this business and look forward to sending Pickles back for high school.
I was just looking up the phone number of this business and read your review. I am curious to know what class was $700.00 because I had not been told that their classes were that expensive. Also, do you have any idea if that same "male trainer" is still there? I had been advised by another trainer that Bark Tudor was one of the better places in Indianapolis to take your dog to because they trained using positive reinforcement. Maybe I will just keep looking.
Dear Dogmom6666, This is Brad Phifer, Headmaster for Bark Tutor School for Dogs. I wanted to respond to your question to Maleyb and hopefully clear up any misunderstanding about our training programs and tuition fees. We have two programs for puppies: The Puppy Pre-School is a four week day school program where the puppy attends school Monday through Friday and is trained, exercised and socialized. Each afternoon, you will receive a brief transition lesson that covers the daily training goals and evening practice lessons to insure the newly trained behaviors are transferring into the home. The tuition for the Puppy Pre-School is $719.96 and includes four free group training classes to be used at the end of your day school program. The Puppy Kindergarten, is an evening group class that meets one night per week for 45 minutes to an hour. The course is identical to the day school program. The tuition for group classes is $150.00 for eight classes or $270.00 for sixteen classes. If you are enrolled in group training classes you would move from Puppy Kindergarten into the other basic obedience levels as your puppy is developmentally ready until your training pass is out of classes. You are more than welcome to stop by the school at anytime to observe training classes and ask questions. If you would like to speak with me further, please call 259.8336 or b.phifer@bracpet.com Regards, Brad Phifer
I went in there to sign my dog up for the $700 class and both me and my dog were treated horribly. I don't know if it was a male trainer, or the owner, but he shouldn't be working there. I've never seen someone who is going to train puppies be so stressed out. He grabbed my dog forcefully after another dog snipped at mine. Wasn't a big deal, but he then said he told me twice to keep my dog close to me, which he didn't. Even one of the female trainers looked at him and said he told me to let my dog go. The 2 female trainers seem nice, but I won't have my dog anywhere near that guy. I'd go elsewhere.
