        Established in 1896, Holbrook School is the oldest school located in Hamtramck, Mich. It serves more than 200 students in grades first through five. The school s academic curriculum includes English, reading, writing, mathematics and science. Holbrook School works in conjunction with the Wayne County Regional Educational Service Agency. It also organizes parent-teacher conferences and fairs, as well as conducts parent-involvement activities. The school is a part of Hamtramck Public Schools, which operates an early childhood and various elementary schools that serve students from preschool through grade five. Hamtramck Public Schools is a part of the city s district that operates through several departments. The district s recreation department maintains recreational centers and parks.
