After earning his medical doctorate, he completed a residency in pediatrics at the St. Louis Children's Hospital of Washington University in Missouri. Dr. Sherbany also completed a residency in neurology at the Neurological Institute of New York City at Columbia University. He received fellowship training in pediatric neurology at Babies Hospital at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center.
In addition to private practice, Dr. Sherbany has held academic appointments and has been an invited guest lecturer and co-author of numerous publications. He is a member of the Child Neurology Society and the American Academy of Neurology.

Dr. Sherbany has board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology (ABPN) with special competence in child neurology. He is also board certified in pediatrics as well as clinical neurophysiology (EEG).
