        My husband mailed a couple of ...

        My husband mailed a couple of packages for Christmas through this company. Each weighed no more than 8 pounds and had destinations in NC and TN. Imagine my shock when he called to say that the shipping cost alone was $158 going by UPS. We didn't even try to get them there by Christmas. That would have cost about $100 more! Since he selected UPS as the shipper, I looked up what those packages would have cost at UPS. We would have paid about 40% less.

        I was told by Mailboxes Etc. that UPS's website is unrealiable. However, I had entered not just the weight but also the sizes of our packges. When I pointed that out, the lady said, that would have been what they charge at a UPS location. Ah!! Live and learn!

        She said they don't tack on anything extra to ship through them(something about UPS pays them, not the client), but I then have to wonder why the difference in price just to ship. I expect them to make money, but that's a pretty heavy mark-up! Not happy!

        I've used Inside the Box since I moved here six years ago. I've found the service to be exceptional and the prices affordable. I recommend them highly.
