Anne grew up in rural upstate New York and attended SUNY at Oswego. She spent one year at UCLA and realized snow was not the way to go. Vowing never to shovel the driveway again, she attended Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and has been firmly planted in California ever since. Anne started her legal career as a public defender in Los Angeles. After 5 years of defending the downtrodden, she moved to Santa Rosa for a sea change in her profession to Workers Compensation. Anne, Santa Rosa, and Worker’s Compensation proved to be a perfect fit.

Jaya Kapoor began working at Mullen & Filippi in 2011, became an Associate Partner in 2014 and Senior Partner in 2019. She has practiced in the field of workers’ compensation since 2004. Jaya has represented third party administrators, insurance companies, employers, self-insured entities, public entities and occupational accident policy holders in various workers’ compensation matters. She has successfully litigated issues at the Trial level winning several take-nothings for her clients. Prior to beginning her legal carrier, Jaya worked as a claims examiner. She also ran a successful import-export business where she gained valuable insight on employment issues. Due to her background, she is able to work closely with both claims examiners and employers in a effective and efficient manner.
