Alissa R. Farol Czapiewski is a 2008 graduate of the University of North Dakota, where she majored in Criminal Justice Studies and Sociology. In 2013, she graduated from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where she served as the sitting President and Parliamentarian for Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. After law school, Alissa worked in private practice focusing on intellectual property law matters. In 2018, she began serving as an Assistant City Attorney and City Prosecutor for the City of Fargo, and has continued to do so since joining Serkland Law Firm in 2022. Alissa focuses on advising city officials on a wide range of complex legal issues and prosecuting criminal and civil cases on behalf of the City of Fargo.

He has also been invited by the State Bar Association of North Dakota and North Dakota Defense Lawyers Association to lecture on lawyer discipline and malpractice issues. He has also served on multiple panels at the University of North Dakota School of Law regarding being a trial lawyer. Jim Maring obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of St. Thomas School of Law in 2005 and his Master of Laws (LLM) in Taxation from the University of Denver in 2006. Jim has been an attorney at the Serkland Law Firm since 2014, and his areas of expertise include tax law, business and commercial law, estate planning and probate, and real estate law. As part of Jim’s tax practice he represents clients with tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as well as state taxing authorities. Jim was appointed as the Honorary Consul for Norway in North Dakota in 2023.
