If you’re new to our office, you’ll get a full-featured dental cleaning and exam that will include time to meet with Dr. Ben to discuss your current oral health, any objectives you have for treatment, and any concerns or diagnoses that we make. We want to make sure that we establish a good baseline for your care and are able to make an accurate assessment and plan for the future of your smile! Your complete time in the patient chair will probably be only about an hour and a half long – that’s quite a bargain for years of healthy teeth!

Dental Examination

X-rays
Oral Cancer Screening
Your exam will usually include a visual oral cancer screening, cavity risk assessment, X-rays, and a meeting with Dr. Ben. Once he has made any diagnoses that are applicable, you will both work together to create a plan for any necessary treatment. We always give you a choice on what treatments you want to pursue, and any decisions about your care are always made by you and Dr. Ben together.

Teeth Cleaning
The best way to protect your teeth is through regular dental cleanings and exams – professional hygienists can reach the areas of your mouth you might not have even realized you were missing! At Eugene Family Dental, we’ve been creating great clean smiles for years, and we’re excited to see yours, too!
Fluoride Treatment
Cleanings involve a full thorough plaque removal by one of our talented hygienists, and fluoride treatment and other preventative care measures as needed.
Dental Sealants
The whitening process usually takes 45 minutes to an hour and involves three fifteen-minute rounds of treatment. We start with an application of special plastic sealant that will protect your gums from the light and whitening gel, and then the gel is brushed onto your teeth. The light is then situated directly on your mouth for fifteen minutes.

Resin Composite
After an examination to be sure that bonding is the right procedure for you, we’ll start by finding an exact color match among our composite options. Your teeth are then brushed with a bonding solution to help the composite resin adhere properly.
Veneers
Bonding is a great solution for patients who don’t want to spend money on expensive veneers, and because bonding doesn’t require any preparation of the teeth, it is a completely reversible procedure!
Crowns

General Dentistry
Dr. Rob Gay has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years. After completing dental school at the University of Minnesota, he served for 5 highly decorated years in the United States Air Force where he completed an advanced education in general dentistry residency with training in IV sedation and advanced surgical techniques. After his Air Force service, Rob practiced in Eugene for 12 years. He especially enjoys treating wisdom teeth and has enjoyed a reputation for being gentle while providing the highest quality of care. He most recently has practiced in Utah where he also works part time as faculty at the Roseman University College of Dental Medicine.
