Most horse owners are aware that the equine mouth needs regular dental attention. Equine dentistry has advanced in the last 20 years and we now address the entire dental arcade. Vaccination
The program includes 2 visits a year, a thorough Annual physical exam, a complete blood panel (CBC and Chemistry), a Nutritional analysis,and an Acupuncture evaluation. Twice a year Flu-Rhino vaccinations, Once yearly West Nile virus, Encephalities (Eastern and Western) and Tetanus. Once yearly complete dental and for Geldings a once a year sheath cleaning. The higher prices are for horses that have not had dentistry with Dr. Grim in at least 16 month.
Veterinary Ophthalmology
Acupuncture is used in horses for many musculoskeletal injuries. It is very useful for sore muscles, back pain, acute and chronic injuries, subtle gait abnormalities and complex lameness cases. It can be used to keep our horses in training and in top performance at shows. Acupuncture is also beneficial for internal illnesses such as digestive disorders, eye problems, skin diseases, laminitis and others.

Dr. Lisa Grim is the owner of Equitage horsecare and founded her practice in North San Diego county in 1997 and has been an equine veterinarian since 1992. Lisa spent most of her formative years near Del Mar California, where she rode and showed horses, groomed for a trainer and explored her passion of horses to the fullest. With her inquisitive mind, strength in problem solving and love of horses it was a natural choice to become an equine veterinarian.
