The Civil Division, governed by the Chemung County Sheriff office, serves legal mandates, district attorney subpoenas, family court papers, summons, and income and property executions. It serves the warrants of removal. The division also receives and disperses money on executions. The Civil Division handles more than $1,000,000 on an annual basis. The sheriff office provides a range of law enforcement services. It also provides the OffenderWatch program. The Chemung County Sheriff office operates community services, corrections, criminal investigations and police services divisions. In addition, the sheriff office employs a staff of over 150 individuals. It offers crime prevention and protection solutions.
