Dr. Matthew Zipoli, a native of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, graduated from Tufts University and received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. Following an internship in internal medicine at UMass Memorial Medical Center, he trained in the department of dermatology at the University of Minnesota, where he served as the program’s chief resident.

Untreated basal cell carcinoma can become large and disfiguring if they are at places of concern, such as the face, nose, and ears. Radiation or chemotherapy treatments may be necessary if your cancer has spread to other sites. Untreated basal cell carcinoma can spread, in rare instances, to the muscles, nerves, bones, and brain. In rare cases, it can result in death. People with one basal cell carcinoma are at risk for recurrence and the development of future skin cancers.

Ingrown Toenails
Mohs Surgery
Mohs surgery allows the tumor to be removed in small layers, thereby preserving the maximum amount of normal skin. During the procedure, Dr. Zipoli will check each layer of skin for cancer cells, removing each layer until there is no more cancer detected.
Reconstructive Surgery
Skin grafting and reconstructive surgery may be necessary after the removal of large melanomas. Scarring after skin cancer removal is common. Cosmetic surgery techniques can improve the appearance of scars after the initial surgery. Some people choose to cover their scars with make-up.

Marie Chalmers, APRN received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth in 1999. In 2015, she graduated from Rivier University in Nashua, NH with a Master of Science in Nursing. Most recently, Ms. Chalmers had been working as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) at a medical spa for over one year. Marie is a certified nurse injector responsible for patient assessments, development of aesthetic treatment plans, and provided services such as laser resurfacing, microneedling, coolsculpting, chemical peels, cosmetic Botox and injectable fillers.
