Eli has always been very straight forward with me, telling me what really needs to be done on the car and what can wait, does the job quickly and has always been fair with pricing. He's both knowledgeable and respectful.
I initially had a bad experience with this shop. I previously had a review documenting this experience, as well as a BBB claim. I have come to find that there is actually a fair and professional office staff (or at least one office individual named Chris that I know of) that is willing to make things right. That is exactly what he did. If you have trouble communicating with the mechanic(s), ask for Chris.
I had a very positive experience with their repair shop. I have a 1997 Honda Civic, automatic transmission, with over 300,000 miles on it. My car has been overheating the past week. When overheating, the anti-freeze would boil over, requiring that I periodically top it off every other day with coolant. After doing some research online, I concluded that the problem is an inefficient/old radiator that needs to be replaced. I found one at Autozone for $120, thinking that I would put it in myself. Driving to work one day, I almost nearly didn't make it. The car was overheating badly and required that I fix the problem ASAP.
I drove to FPM. They also diagnosed it as a radiator problem(I'm glad we agreed) and quoted me $265 to install it(parts and labor). Diagnosis and repair took a little less than 2 hrs.
Eli did a great job on my car and his pricing is good to, I come here before any other shop.
You may experience a bit of an upsell, but if you're straight with them, they'll be straight with you. Quick service and fair prices. Just ask them for as much detail as possible.
I pulled over to Mobil Gas station during my evening commute for gas and to get a sticker. Abe's is their service station. They found an issue with exhaust (which was NOT fixed, and not even detected by authorized service in Lexington), they took me under my car and showed me what parts need to be replaced and gave me a fair estimate. They worked till 8pm and fixed everything.
I like this garage. I've used them for over a year now, they are always helpful and explain any problems to me. Prices are fine
Two thumbs up for Eli, Naeem, and the crew for fixing my car on a short notice. They explained what I needed to do before I gave the green light to fix the evap canister, vent and cap. Their price was reasonable and even gave me a discount after not charging for diagnostics test.
In addition, they fixed my grill and tightened one corner of the bumper for free. This was done when I came to pick up and Eli was heading out for dinner. But he rolled up his sleeves and stayed behind to fix my car.
Highly recommend Abe's to anyone near and far. These folks are honest and reliable!
I love these guys. I have been coming here for years-- they are always nice and courteous, and I never feel like I am being scammed. They listen to you, too, which can be a rarity among car repair guys! They do a good job with repairs, and will work with you if you are on a budget, to say what you need done (to pass inspection, to be safe), vs. what is OK to put off until next time. Plus, their waiting room is totally dog-friendly!
