The Gitkind Law Firm opened its doors in the fall of 2004. After six years at a local Estate Planning Law firm, Andy L. Gitkind decided to open his own practice. The Gitkind Law Firm is dedicated to helping clients protect, preserve and pass-on their assets. We do this through our focus on Estate Planning and Elder Law.
Wills
In 2004, Mr. Gitkind opened his own law practice. This followed six years of wills and trust experience at one of Boulder county’s largest estate planning firms. Mr. Gitkind has helped hundreds of families through the planning process, as his law practice is focused in the areas of estate planning and elder law.
Trusts
Certain types of trusts offer asset protection features. Andy can advise on strategies like irrevocable trusts or spousal lifetime access trusts (SLATs) to shield assets from creditors or potential claims arising from a divorce. However, it’s important to note that these strategies are complex and require careful consideration of individual circumstances and applicable laws.
Power of Attorney
Regardless of age, everyone today should have a general power of attorney, a healthcare power of attorney and a living will. These allow your family to make medical and financial decisions in the event that you are unable to do so. More importantly, these documents, if done correctly, can allow those you trust to make decisions on your behalf without cost delay, conflict, confusion or court involvement and interference.
Probate
The Gitkind Law Firm is the product of over two decades of legal practice dedicated to Wills, Trusts, Estates and Probate Law.
Among our hundreds of clients, we plan for estates large and small. Many issues related to death and disability are critical to us all. Communicating well with and educating our clients to make wise choices is central to our practice.
