A visual field test is a test that identifies dysfunction in the central and peripheral areas of vision which may be caused by glaucoma or other neurological conditions.

Dr. Chang obtained his Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and his Master degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of Miami. He went on and attained his Doctors degree in Optometry at Southern College of Optometry. Dr. Chang believed that his initial training as an engineer has separated him from the typical Doctor of Optometry. He is convinced that his engineering training which focuses on problem solving skills and the ability to harness the best of the new technology have better prepared him in treating and managing eye care to his patients. Because of his background and extended knowledge on computers, he is more keenly aware of eye problems that can be caused from the extended usage of computers. His Biomedical Engineering training at the world renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute has better prepared him with the latest technological advancement in the field Optometry and Ophthalmology. In addition, with the latest development in laser vision correction, Dr. Chang is able to combine his knowledge as an engineer and as an optometrist to better co-manage his patients.
Macular Degeneration
Fundus Photography is the photography of the interior surface of the eye. The photograph provides us with an in-depth view of the retinal surface where many eye diseases first manifest. This photographic examination allows us to screen for ocular problems such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal holes/detachments, and many symptoms of systemic diseases including diabetes and hypertension. The photograph is stored in your medical records for future comparisons to detect any changes over time.
Laser Eye Surgery
Refractive surgery encompasses several surgical procedures developed to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contact lenses. The difference in these surgeries is the method in which the surgeon accesses the deeper corneal layers. These procedures include LASIK (Laser Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis), LASEK (Laser Assisted Epithelial Keratomileusis) and PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy).

Eye Exam
A full eye examination may take between one to two hours. If new eyewear needs to be selected, allow an additional 30 to 45 minutes.

OCT provides high-resolution, cross-sectional imaging of the back of the eye. It is capable of detecting changes in the back of the eye and therefore allows us to look for and monitor diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and macular edema.
