Good Samaritan University Hospital

I have worked in a hospital for over 15 years and have made more than my fair number of trips to the hospital. This is without a doubt the single worst emergency room/department I have ever seen. The administrative staff are so rude I can't possibly put it into words, the people they put at the front desk, I believe, are trained on how to make people feel like &^%$. It is the only hospital anywhere close to my home and with a family of 4 we have been to their emergency room MANY times. We have NEVER been seen in under 2 hours, including a time I went in an ambulance after a car accident. This is despite the fast that the waiting room is generally pretty empty. The worst wait ever was a family member who waited 6 HOURS before being seen by a doctor, in a gown, in pain in the waiting room. I also love walking into a room to find other peoples medical records open on the unattended PC monitor right next to where they tell you to sit (nice little HIPAA violation). Add to this the fact that every single time we have been there they screwed up the billing (I have always had major medical insurance) which requires endless phone calls and re-submission of paperwork. EVERY TIME. I hope my life is never in real jeopardy because odds are I will die waiting for someone to even notice me. Check Yelp, there are other horror stories on there about Good Sams ED

I was recently a surgical patient at Good Samaritan. I found the hospital areas (ASU admitting and holding area, Operating Room and 4 main nursing area) clean and well kept. All of the staff that I encountered in these areas were most helpful and very professional. I was truly grateful for the care that I received there.
