Electrocardiogram
Our team of physicians, advanced providers and nurses specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of advanced heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. The clinic is located within the OHI hospital, on the campus of Hillcrest Medical Center, which allows us to provide a comprehensive fluid management program, including evaluation and treatment with intravenous diuresis, hydration and electrolyte replacement in the outpatient setting. We can obtain electrocardiograms, telemetry monitoring and collection of labs with same-day results. Rapid assessment of the efficacy of outpatient therapies facilitates the decision to discharge home versus direct-admit to the hospital for further escalation of care. The clinic has a nurse on-call 24/7 for emergencies. Our highly specialized registered nurses provide every new patient consult with heart failure education and continued re-enforcement. Our goal is to reduce hospital readmissions and improve patientsâ€™ quality of life.

This procedure provides a new option for some patients living with Atrial Fibrillation, the most common heart rhythm problem affecting adults in America.Â Currently, more than 4 million people carry the diagnosis of Atrial Fibrillation with many more yet to be diagnosed.Â There is an increasing incidence with age, and it is estimated that 25% of adults over 40 will develop Atrial Fibrillation during their lifetime.Â Â Atrial Fibrillation can result in a dramatic reduction in quality of life, physical condition, mental health and social functioning, as well as cause congestive heart failure, stroke, dementia, and death.Â Â Fortunately, successful ablation of Atrial Fibrillation has proved in multiple research trials to normalize the above quality of life measures and reduce the incidence of congestive heart failure, stroke, dementia, and death.Â

Like most physicians at Oklahoma Heart Institute, the Endocrinology Division physicians are actively involved in the study of new therapies. This allows us to stay on the forefront of evolving care for diabetes, hypertension and lipid disorders.
Hypothyroidism
Nearly all of the metabolic processes in your body are influenced by hormones the thyroid gland produces. Thyroid disorders range from harmless to life-threatening. There are two thyroid problems that are the most common â€“ hyperthyroidism (too much thyroid hormone) and hypothyroidism (too little thyroid hormone). When properly diagnosed and treated, most thyroid disorders can be managed.
Thyroid
Several important body functions are powered by a network of glands that produce and release hormones that make up the bodyâ€™s endocrine system. This system impacts almost every fiber of your being â€“ from how your bones and tissues develop, how your heart beats to even your capacity to produce a baby. Its role is crucial when it comes to whether or not you develop diabetes, experience growth disorders, have sexual dysfunction, suffer from thyroid disease as well as many other hormone-related disorders. Each endocrine gland discharges hormones into your bloodstream. These hormones maneuver through your blood to other cells to either assist or take control of various body processes. Even the slightest issue with one or more of these glands can throw off your hormones which would lead to either an endocrine disorder or even endocrine disease.
Thyroid Cancer
A picture of the thyroid gland is produced to assist in the diagnosis of a nodule (lump) in the thyroid, thyroid cancer or a thyroid gland that is not functioning properly. Prior to surgery, this test can also show abnormal neck lymph nodes helping surgeons determine the extent of the operation.

Ultrasound
Using the latest technology, OHI vascular specialists will be able to accurately diagnose vascular conditions in a timely and cost-effective fashion.Â The vascular laboratory will be able to diagnose non-cardiac vascular diseases including carotid artery disease, abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA), peripheral arterial disease (PAD), deep venous thrombosis (DVT), and venous insufficiency utilizing duplex ultrasound and physiologic testing.Â Testing will be available Monday through Friday with schedulingÂ the same or next day.Â Reports will be available for provider review within 48 hours of the studyâ€™s performance.
MRI
Working closely with pediatric cardiologists, our specialists provide comprehensive care to patients as they make the transition from adolescence to adulthood. A variety of non-invasive imaging tools, including cardiac MRI, thoracic magnetic resonance angiography and transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, are used to diagnose and monitor patients. If necessary, Oklahoma Heart Instituteâ€™s electrophysiology specialists can provide catheter-based radiofrequency ablation and implantable device therapy to treat cardiac dysrhythmia, which is common among congenital heart patients. The Clinic also treats acquired adult conditions, including coronary artery disease and degenerative vascular disease.
Nuclear Medicine
The Oklahoma Heart Institute nuclear cardiology laboratories were the first Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories (ICANL) in the state of Oklahoma. We sought accreditation to show our commitment to high quality nuclear cardiac imaging. Our labs have set forth strict protocols that ensure accurate testing, patient safety and correlation with clinical symptoms and previous diagnostic tests.Â Studies are interpreted by a select group of formally trained and dedicated noninvasive cardiologists. All interpreting cardiologists have attained the training and requirements to be licensed as authorized users of radiopharmaceuticals as outlined by the State of Oklahoma and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
Chemotherapy
AL amyloidosis (Light Chain): The most common type of Amyloidosis, caused by a bone marrow disorder. It is often treated with chemotherapy or stem cell transplant. We work closely with our hematology/oncology colleagues, who determine the best treatment plan for these patients.

Vascular Surgery

Lesions
Peripheral venous disease is four to five times more prevalent than peripheral arterial disease, and the clinical presentation of lower extremity venous incompetence spans a broad clinical spectrum from telangiectasias (spider veins) to long-standing and recalcitrant venous stasis ulcers. This spectrum of disease manifests from cosmetically displeasing lesions on the legs to threats of serious secondary illnesses such as infection from chronic ulceration.
