Dr. Steven Gabel, MD, FACS
NEW PATIENTS
Primary: Plastic, Reconstructive, and Cosmetic Surgeon
Sub-Specialty: Head and Neck Surgery Specialist
This is my second hair transplant, and my experience is vastly different than the first one. Firstly, Dr. Gabel's team is extraordinary. I was fascinated by how each member focused on their particular part of the preparation process, and the dedication that each person obviously had, with regard to their role. The process was long, and they were attentive and patient for the many hours. Dr. Gabel himself is a perfectionist; he is personally engaged in the entire process; he does not just instruct people and then check back at the end of the day. He also is keen on doing the extra things, the little things, that make the job more likely to have a very successful result. That goes for the team as well: there is much more care regarding protocols during the surgery than anything that I experienced before. The overall atmosphere is one of excellence, but it is also humane. Dr. Gabel's staff is well-treated and respected, but they are also "on task." This is a rather rare combination, and it is a testament to the kind of quality that Dr. Gabel is establishing as the bar of his practice. This is only the day after my procedure; my final response will of course have to wait for the result as it begins to show up. But all signs point toward the positive. I have been extremely impressed with all that has transpired in this experience.
While I was extremely hesitant about the procedure and had dozens of questions, after researching everything from dotted tattoos on my scalp, to prescription drugs for hair growth, the option that kept popping up that gave the best (and best-looking) results by far was FUT or FUE surgery. To be honest, once I had done the consultation in which Dr. Gabel patiently answered all of my questions, the most difficult part thereafter wasn't the surgery or any discomfort (which honestly, is minimal and only lasts a couple of days) but rather it was the waiting for results. My personal experience thus far had me wearing a hat whenever I left the house for about 4 1/2 months (my own choice) but between month 4 and month 5, I have experienced enough growth and fill-in, that I've been doing a little bit of styling and have been going hatless for the past couple of weeks. At first a couple people asked if I got a hair cut (& I said I had), but beyond that, it's already looking like my natural hair! If/when you study it closely, you can see that it is a bit different than the rest of my scalp, but as I understand it, the next 6-12 months will see a thickening of the hair follicles as well as possibly more hairs that are dormant growing as well. Overall, after 5 months (to the day) I'm VERY pleased with the results and VERY glad that I didn't wait to do it!
So while I felt a bit crazy for considering this option at first, Dr. Gabel (and his AMAZING staff) made the surgery day quite enjoyable, and I don't feel crazy at all at this point, just very pleased that I went through with it.
Dr. Gabel and his staff are wonderful. Very talented, professional, and personable. My surgery went faster than expected, with more grafts than initially thought possible. My implants are coming in wonderfully and even my hairdresser cannot tell where I was balding. I experience no pain whatsoever during the procedure, minimal swelling, and the donor area stitches/scar are practically invisible. I don't believe you can have such a faint scar. Dr. Gabel is truly gifted. His high ratings were well earned. Worth the 180 mile drive to see him rather than local surgeons in Seattle.
Dr. Gabel was very informative and explained things well.
The staff is also very friendly and go to lengths to preserve your privacy
I had my hair procedure done six months ago and had a wonderful experience with Dr. Gabel and his staff. Everything went as planned and the results so far have been excellent. My questions were answered honestly and professionally, my needs were attended to, and I have no regrets about moving forward with the procedure. Very highly recommended!
I came to Dr. Gabel's office a year ago to discuss options for my hair loss. I decided to go with the Capillus as it seemed very easy to do every other day and use Minoxldol twice a day My hair is fuller and stronger and I hope with continued use I will see more hair growth.
Dr. Gabel and his staff are great. Dr. Gabel is straight forward explaining what may or may not happen For me, I am glad I chose the Capillua as there is some new hair growth. If you are not sure about surgery I recommend to try the Capillus.
Dr. Gabel was a terrific physician and I can't recommend him enough. Very caring and skilled. I wish I'd learned about him much sooner.
Great could not be happier. He also detected a heart problem which I had no idea about.
felt very well taken care off by Dr Gabel and his wonderful team, and I was made to feel comfortable and at ease
Very good
