I went in to Nationwide back in November to use my eye benefits before the end of the year ran out. They had a very good selection. The young man was very helpful and research my benefits. I knew they covered the basic eye glasses and lens. He said I could add options and that they were covered. I questioned him on this because I did not want any out of pocket expense.He still insisted the benefits would allow the upgrades. The only thing I had to pay for was the extended warranty. This is my back up pair of glasses as the are only bifocal and not progressives. Last week I received a bill in the mail for a balance of the upgrades. Naturally I was upset and went into the office. I explained everything to them and thought it was a bait and switch, The manager and lucky to be there team trainer listen to me. They pulled out the paper work and noticed that the young man had called and received authorization, He just misunderstood the benefits. I told them I would gladly give the glasses back but would not be happy in loosing my benefits for last year. They understood and ask what I wanted. I told them it would only be fair if they wrote off the balance. They said they would talk to the district manager and would call me back I the same day. Fifteen minutes later the district manage called me stating they would just write the balance off. She also confirmed it by email as well. It is not very often companies will admit when it was their mistake. Nationwide Vision has earned my business by being a very standup and take responsibility company.
