In 1994 Magnum Precision built my custom Springfield 1911. 55,000 rounds later it's still working flawlessly. Original 2.5lb trigger. Amazing work.
I took a springfield XD there to get finished with duracoat and reblued. They told me it would take 2 weeks. It was closer to 2 months.... I finally picked it up, paid for it and I found that neither finish was even applied right. The duracoat could scratch right off, and the bluing wore right off by cycling the slide a few times.
No problems with having two pistols worked on, replaced the sights on both. One had to go back to Ruger for trigger work, they took care of all aspects and it wasn't that long of a wait. Head Smith was friendly, as was an assistant that helped me resight the guns.. Price was reasonable.
Only issue was I also wanted to change the sights on a Tokarav (Norinco Model 213) and they didn't seem to want to do that. Any one with ideas, please post a review.
I took my rifle in for a barrel chop/recrown. I dropped it off June 19th. When I called on June 27th, the "smith" hadn't even heard of it yet. I told him I needed it in two days, and he EXPEDITED my rifle. With this I was PLEASED.
When I picked it up, it LOOKED re-assembled. I looked at the barrel, closed the case, paid $80, then left. I got home and looked at it closer...
Of the TWO screws my rifle needs, they LOST one of them. Or STOLE it. My rifle was made to look complete to get me out the door and take liability.
My rifle was is a 1944 Lee Enfield No4Mk1. Parts are hard to find. I thnk they stole my screw for themselves. Why else would they make my rifle "look" assembled??
Either they are thieves, or they are VERY UNORGANIZED. Either way, FAIL!!!
