Reed's Hobby Shop

I called, and the voice at the other end of the line said, "We're the las train store in the county." After visiting and not being either greeted or spoken to in 15 minutes in this disheveled store, I left, thinking Reed's won't last much longer either. Sad and unfriendly.

Too much LGB and Lionel-great if you're into LGB and Lionel, but they have way too much money tied up in stuff that doesn't move. The money could be better spent on building up the HO and especially the N. I couldn't even find an Athearn HO SW 1500 in any paint scheme. N scale seemed to be an afterthought. The help was more concerned with BS'ing with each other than helping me. In two trips not one offer of "can I help you". No Railroads Illustrated, either. I can see why their store isn't crowded. At least they have something, which is why I didn't give them a one-star. It's not worth a special trip.
