Traditional dental X-rays have been “good enough,” but digital X-rays provide clearer and much more accurate pictures of what’s going on inside a patient’s mouth. Crowns
Sometimes, the urgency isn’t about when the damage occurred, but how quickly you need it addressed. One example is a patient sent to Dr. Taler from another dentist who was unable to address the issue. The patient had to be on a plane that afternoon to speak at a business meeting the next day. Advanced Family Dentistry was able to place an implant for his missing tooth and give him a temporary crown, all that morning. He made his flight and crushed the presentation!
Bridges
Dental bridges are held in place by crowns on either side of the gap, filling the empty space left by a missing tooth or teeth. They are a faster, less costly fix in the short-term, but are difficult to clean around and need to be replaced periodically.

Amber is our lead dental assistant and has over 12 years of experience in the dental field. She studied dental assisting at IU Northwest in Gary, IN and is a certified expanded duties dental assistant with a focus in oral surgery, dental implants, and prosthetics. She is a problem-solver and a go-to teammate for clinical and front office concerns. When she is not chairside or restoring fillings, she likes to spend time with her daughter Isabelle and husband Nick. On the weekends, you can often find her sitting by a campfire, drinking a nice cold cider.
