F&O's is the only place in Des Moines serving genuine Chicago-style deep dish: a mountain of cheese hidden under great sauce, on top of a made-fresh risen dough thick crust. Yum, nothing like it! They also surprised us with traditional thin crust pizza. My friend's looked (and tasted) amazing. So fresh!
If you want an outstanding pizza, try Felix and Oscars. This is the only pizza place in Des Moines where we order a thick crust pizza. The thin crust pizza they offer is good as well. We prefer the Merle Hay location, most of the staff has been with the owner for years, and there is something to be said for loyalty. Good salads also, be sure and try the creamy parmesan.

The chicago style pizza takes about 40 minutes to cook but it is well worth the wait. Excellent for and service is just as good.
We ordered a cheese top pizza and had it delivered to our hotel. It was pretty good. A typical Chicago style deep dish. My husband, daughter and I ate half of a medium, so a little goes a long way.
Sat at the bar the bartender was attentive and offered suggestions for both drink and dinner! Very pleasant time!
If you're a fan of Chicago style deep dish you will love F&Os. I personally prefer the outstanding chicken wings. The meat falls right off the bone and comes with hot sauce and ranch to add to your preference. Really, the chicken doesn't need the dipping sauces but it's still a pleasent touch.
