I am a foster for Pawmetto Lifeline, and they always give me everything I need. Most of my fosters have kennel cough from being in municipal shelters and stress, etc. I am always responded to by staff if I need anything while fostering, including meds. PL is helping Richland & Lexington Counties become no-kill, and saving thousands of adoptable cats & dogs a year from euthanasia. Keep in mind, PL receives NO government assistance and is a non-profit. We are lucky to have such a wonderful organization in the Columbia Metro area!
I just recently adopted a dog from Palmetto Lifeline. A DAY after bringing her home she began coughing, often to the point of regurgitation. So I decided to take her to the vet today, keep in mind it is Friday, she was adopted on Tuesday. The vet kindly informed me that she is actually 7 months old, compared to 4 months like they said. She is not a lab at all, as they informed me that she is a lab mix. And she has kennel cough, more than likely contracted at Palmetto Lifeline. DO NOT ADOPT FROM THIS ADOPTION AGENCY!!!
Was trying to a good thing and be a foster family to a sweet little dog but Pawmetto lifeline brought this dog to me.sick with kennel cough. The dog became very ill in my care and they kept blowing me off. I had to take the dog to the ER where the dog was in. Critical condition. Our hearts are broken. How did this happen. How do you miss this. What. Idiots.
I am a nurse and i went there for my family dog and they said that my honey and I aren't suitable dog owners bc we work too much (3 days a week) and I went there to see a dog I saw on their website for my disabled father.and they said that he shouldn't take a dog outside without a leash for the first six months. We own 20 acres so why does it have to be on a leash? That sounds like a horrible life for a dog. They said he wasn't acceptable because he said that he doesnt always take his dog out on a leash. This place doesn't want to let peole adopt dogs and three days a week for work is not too much, do they only adopt to people who don't work? Also they have lifetime rights so its almost as if the dog is never fully yours. Their adoption rates are 300/dog which is a little steep for the amount of work you have to go through to even get to meet the dogs. This place is ridiculous! They will never get my money!
Pawmetto Lifeline (Project Pet) is the very best No Kill shelter ever! They truly care about their animals and do a wonderful job. This is the place to adopt your new pets.
You have to see their new facility. It is huge and full of dedicated workers and volunteers.
