When a legal concern affects your family, we understand the importance of helping you obtain a beneficial outcome. Divorce and family law concerns are complex, emotionally charged issues that will impact both you and your children for years to come. Our lawyers are committed to providing the assistance you need during this difficult time.
Child Support
Child support can be one of the most hotly contested issues in a Michigan divorce case, especially when parents’ emotions take over in addressing the needs of minor children. It can be difficult to reach an agreement, but child support matters are complex even when parents concur about the financial side of things. The child’s best interests are always the primary consideration, but it can be hard to understand the calculations and legal implications.
Child Custody and Visitation
What we’ve always known instinctively has also been borne out in studies: divorce is tough on kids. It’s even harder when mom and dad are fighting over issues that directly involve them, such as custody and visitation. A child caught in a custody or visitation fight can even come to believe, however inaccurately, that he is the cause of his parents’ breakup.
Spousal Support
If the case involves minor children or other complications, the court will issue a Temporary Order that sets out what will happen with the children and finances during the pendency of the divorce. It usually covers custody, debt issues, time with the children, child or spousal support, and possession of the marital home. It often also forbids the parties from hiding or selling assets.

Traffic Violations
We needed a lawyer to assist with my son’s traffic violation, and working with Vince Manzella was an amazing experience. His entire team displayed professionalism and excellent communication. Highly recommend Lucido & Manzella!
Sex Crimes
Because these charges and the effects of a conviction are so serious, it’s essential to speak with an experienced sex crimes defense attorney as soon as possible after your arrest. The attorneys at Lucido & Manzella, P.C. have many years of successfully defending a wide variety of sex crime charges brought against residents of Macomb County and the surrounding area. We will help you weigh all your options, discuss possible defenses and review the likely consequences of a conviction or guilty plea.
Fraud
You may commit a fraud crime by obtaining a financial benefit through false statements to the provider of that benefit. For example, say you falsify an application for a mortgage loan by overstating your income or lying about your debts – you can be charged with mortgage fraud. File a false insurance claim for fictitious injuries or property damage and you could be charged with insurance fraud.
Theft
Misdemeanors
Criminal charges of any kind are a direct threat to your personal freedom and your future opportunities. Whether you are facing misdemeanor or felony charges, securing experienced defense help is crucial in your effort to fight the allegations against you.
Embezzlement
Joseph Wolf, former director of the Detroit Stars, was sentenced to two years of supervised probation. Wolf pleaded guilty to embezzling funds from the nonprofit youth baseball league. Typically, the felony count can result in up to 10 years in prison, a fine of $15,000, and other charges, but Lucido & Manzella, P.C. was able to help the client receive a reduced sentence.
Drug Crimes
If you are facing drug possession or possession with intent to distribute charges in Macomb County, you need someone on your side. While the experienced and aggressive attorneys at Lucido & Manzella, P.C. will help you understand the consequences if you’re convicted, we’ll also explore every legitimate potential defense. For example, perhaps you are charged with possession of Schedule 4 painkillers, but you have a valid doctor’s prescription. You may be able to challenge the way in which the search of your person or home was conducted, or you may be able to show that you were unaware the CDS was in your home.
Assault
Under the Michigan Domestic Violence Act, a person commits “domestic assault†or “domestic battery†if the victim is a current or former spouse, an individual with whom the person is or was in a dating relationship, the co-parent of the person’s child, or a current or former resident of the person’s household, and commits any of the following...
Homicide
While the penalty for most motor vehicle violations is a fine, there are infractions that can result in incarceration. Primary among these are vehicular homicide and drunk driving offenses. Moreover, a drunk driving conviction or other serious traffic violation may result in suspension or revocation of your driving privileges. Once your license is suspended, you must request a reinstatement hearing before the Driver Assessment and Appeal Division (DAAD) of the Michigan Secretary of State.
Shoplifting
The scale of shoplifting, known in most states as retail theft, borders on the epidemic. The National Association for Shoplifting Prevention ( NASP ) estimates that more than $13 billion is stolen from merchants every year – that’s nearly $35 million worth of goods every day. Although nearly a quarter of those apprehended are juveniles, many continue to shoplift as adults. NASP studies also show that most shoplifters don’t commit other crimes and that only a small percentage are “professionals†(for example, those who steal to support a drug habit ).
Forgery
William Weber, owner of Weber Security Group Inc., was accused by former Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith of falsifying an invoice that allegedly confirmed the installation of a security system at Smith’s home. Despite the case’s complexity, Lucido & Manzella, P.C. successfully defended Mr. Weber against four felonies, which included larceny by conversion, forgery, aiding and abetting, and concealing stolen property.
Manslaughter
Manslaughter charges against three men who were initially charged in the death of 24-year old Kenneth Klingler were rescinded. The men were accused of beating the victim to death in a physical altercation, but investigators determined that the victim passed away from head injuries caused by a vehicle impact. A video was released showing that Klingler survived the altercation and walked into a busy street, where he was struck by a vehicle. Despite how “bizarre†the case was, Lucido & Manzella, P.C. successfully proved the defendants’ innocence.
“I have used the firm for landlord-tenant issues and have always had great results! Very knowledgeable and helpful.”
Property Damage
In addition, you must still carry so-called “personal liability and property damage†insurance to cover damage or injuries to others they may cause; failure to do so can result in a fine and other serious penalties, and you may also be prevented from collecting under another driver’s no-fault policy.
If you were hurt in an accident, you may feel overwhelmed and unsure of what to do next. Trusts

Power of Attorney
Power of attorney: A power of attorney gives another person the legal right to act on your behalf in case of incapacitation. A general power of attorney pertains to your finances and affairs, and a health care power of attorney pertains to your medical needs.
Chapter 7 bankruptcy is the most common type of bankruptcy case filed by consumers in the United States. When individuals or married couples face overwhelming debts and do not see a way out, they can often find relief from the Chapter 7 process. That being said, Chapter 7 bankruptcy is not right for everyone, and it can be a complicated process. This is why it is critical to have experienced Chapter 7 bankruptcy attorneys handling your case.
Foreclosure
Under Chapter 13, you will have to repay some or all of what you owe, but the court will give you a three- or five-year repayment plan. Because you’re engaging in that repayment process, you can keep your property and prevent foreclosure on your home and repossession of your car. In fact, if you have a debt that you have tried to work out a payment plan on with an uncooperative creditor, you can use Chapter 13 to force them into accepting a payment plan. The disadvantage is that the payment plan on your debts may be more than you can afford.
Debt Collection
During the bankruptcy process, an automatic stay is often filed to protect you from creditors by halting further debt collection on their part.
