Medical Weight Loss
Suction lipoplasty is not designed as a weight reduction procedure. It is a contouring procedure which removes bulges to blend body outlines more aesthetically.

Glaucoma
A few medical conditions make blepharoplasty more risky. They include thyroid problems such as hypothyroidism and Graves’ disease, dry eye or lack of sufficient tears, high blood pressure or other circulatory disorders, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. A detached retina or glaucoma is also reason for caution; check with your ophthalmologist before you have surgery.
Eye Exam
In this consultation, Dr. Sonderman or a nurse will test your vision and assess your tear production. You should also provide any relevant information from your ophthalmologist or the record of your most recent eye exam. If you wear glasses or contact lenses, be sure to bring them along.

Pregnancy
Labor and Delivery
Many factors can affect the contour of your abdomen. Pregnancy can stretch abdominal tissues to an extent that’s uncorrectable with exercise. An unattractive abdomen can result from excess fat deposits that produce undesirable bulges or fullness and loose skin following childbirth or weight loss.

Endoscopy
If a complication should occur during an endoscopic forehead lift, your surgeon may have to abandon the endoscopic approach and switch to the conventional, open procedure, which will result in a more extensive scar and a longer recovery period. To date, such complications are rare—estimated at less than 1 percent of all endoscopy procedures.

He is Board Certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, The Wisconsin Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Wisconsin Surgical Society, the Midwestern Society of Plastic Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Sonderman is past President of the Wisconsin Society of Plastic Surgery, past Chairman of the Division of Plastic Surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and is the former Chairman of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
Ear Surgery
For the most part, the operation is done on children between the ages of four and 14. Ears are almost fully grown by age four, and the earlier the surgery, the less teasing and ridicule the child will have to endure. Ear surgery on adults is also possible, and there are generally no additional risks associated with ear surgery on an older patient.

Liposuction
Liposuction is an outpatient procedure which removes excess fat deposits that cause localized bulges in various areas of the body. Through the use of various techniques, the body can be contoured by removing bulges to blend body outlines more aesthetically. Insurance does not cover this procedure.
Breast Augmentation
Breast Lift (Mastopexy): A breast lift may be performed to remove excess breast skin and reposition nipples that point downward. The extent of the incision and scar visibility depends upon the extent of the lift required in the procedure. Sometimes, breast implants are placed simultaneously to enhance breast shape and size. Breast Reduction
Breast reduction is one of the most common procedures performed on the breast. Many women have a breast size which is out of proportion to the remainder of their body. Due to the weight that their breasts exert on the shoulders and neck, many women experience neck and shoulder pain related to their large breast size. Other symptoms include rashes, which develop on the underside of the breast in warm summer months and headaches associated with weight on the neck. Large breasts also prevent some patients from participating in athletic activities and can make breast mammograms more difficult.

While “facelift” is a generally descriptive term, it refers to a number of procedures that will change the look of the lower face, including cheeks, jowls, and neck. The procedure entails incisions placed in front of and behind the ear.
Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty can enhance your appearance and your self-confidence, but it won’t necessarily change your looks to match your ideal, or cause other people to treat you differently. Before you decide to have surgery, think carefully about your expectations and discuss them with Dr. Sonderman.
Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty is an outpatient procedure which improves the contour and appearance of the abdomen. It contours or reshapes the underlying muscle framework and removes excess fat and loose skin. Nose Surgery
Be sure to tell Dr. Sonderman if you’ve had any previous nose surgery or an injury to your nose, even if it was many years ago. You should also inform your surgeon if you have any allergies or breathing difficulties; if you’re taking any medications, vitamins, or recreational drugs; and if you smoke.
Body Lift
Body Lift: Essentially, a tummy tuck may be performed. This is accomplished through an incision extending around the sides to the back. In addition, lifting and tightening of the sagging abdomen, hips, thighs and buttocks may be performed.
