Primary Care

Ear Infections
Strep and ear infections, colds and stomach bugs – they are all part of childhood. I want to make sure the kids are ok and the parents understand what is going on and what they can and need to do. What I really enjoy is helping parents to become confident in raising their children and most importantly to enjoy this fleeting honor. As the kids get older I want to help them understand how important it is to take care of their bodies and their minds. As I entered parenthood, one of my patient parents advised me to surround my children with as many caring adults as possible. The advice is sound, and I see myself as part of that support.
Emergency Care
Patients are requested to provide staff with sufficient notice to complete any referral forms, pre-certifications, or other forms required by your insurance company to process payment for services. Retroactive referrals will be completed for emergency care only. The patient is responsible for notifying staff of the need for a referral and will be responsible for any financial penalty incurred by failure to secure proper referral for any services.

Our philosophy regarding vaccines is that all children should receive the recommended vaccines according to the guidelines provided by the AAP and CDC. Vaccines have been proven to be safe and effective in preventing life-threatening infections, diseases and health complications in children and young adults. By keeping your kids up-to-date with their vaccinations, you are not only protecting their health, but also the health of those around them. We are happy to discuss the benefits of vaccinating your child at his or her next visit.

Frostbite
While it's hard to think of this yet, the snow will be flying soon and temperatures will start to drop. Many kids wait for rides or buses before or after school, or walk to and from school, which can put them at risk. In the right conditions, frostbite can happen to exposed skin in a matter of minutes. Areas most prone to developing frostbite are the nose, cheeks, chin, fingers and toes.
Lesions
Hand, Foot and Mouth disease: Again, if there is a fever, keep home for 24 hours. Once new lesions stop forming and all current lesions your child has are crusted over, it's ok to return to daycare/school.
