Jan I. Berlage, Attorney at Law

Jan was great. No other words needed. Responded to all my calls right away and worked hard. He takes a lot of pride in his work and is very honest. Our matter was business related and required quite a bit of litigation. If needed in the future, I would use his firm again.

Mr. Berlage helped me out of a bad situation. I moved and the movers scratched a valuable piece of furniture- my dining room table that was an antique. I contacted the movers who told me they were licensed and insured- I found them through Craigslist. Bad move. The owner proceeded to tell me he had gone out of business ( in one week?) and was filing bankruptcy. I had a friend call to inquire about moving services though the next day and suddenly he was back in business. I called two attorneys who explained to me that it would cost more (about 700-1,000 dollars in legal fees) to recover damages than it would to fix the table (the repair was about 600 dollars to refinish the top). Berlage was the third attorney I called and he had sympathy for my situation. He promised to help me out for a very small flat fee because he felt strongly that I had been ripped off. Well, he had my moving expenses reimbursed from the company within a week and I had the table fixed. He cut his fee to help me out and he was happy with the outcome as I was.
