This is a common LASIK question. LASIK is an excellent option for many people to improve their vision. The best way to determine if you qualify for LASIK is through an eye exam with your optometrist. In order to be considered, you must be at least 18, healthy and have good eye health with no diseases such as cataracts or glaucoma. Laser vision correction can treat a broad range of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.

Eye Exam
These tests, along with a comprehensive eye examination by our laser surgery expert, will provide a thorough assessment of your eyes’ health and suitability for PRK.
Eye problems: LASIK patients should make their eye doctor aware of certain eye problems, including amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (muscle imbalance), or any recurrent, residual or active eye conditions that may influence healing. Other conditions that should be discussed with the doctor include keloid scarring with previous surgical healing, back problems and claustrophobia. Please make your eye doctor aware of any mental health conditions, as these may also affect your LASIK surgery or recovery.
