Basil Cafe

Basil Cafe is the elite Thai restaurant in the Fox valley. the portions are so big that you can feasibly split them between two people which brings down the cost pier person to an affordable rate. this is a perfect family atmosphere as well as a great date night restaurant. well done Basil

Yum! Basil Cafe is a modern, relatively-upscale noodle house in Appleton. The parking situation is a little strange (park on the side, enter in back), but once you enter, the odd building layout is immediately offset by the dining area's tasteful, arty decor. We've sampled a variety of salad and noodle dishes, and everything we've tried was excellent. The service provided by the wait staff is always top shelf-- the staff is very knowledgable, and they understand the owner's culinary vision-- but there also always seem to be a few extra servers / assistants hanging out in the dining area who are oblivious to the customers on the floor; a couple of times I've noticed these hangers-on chatting away with each other in the rear of the dining area when we needed something and our waiter was serving other customers. It's odd to see how hard the wait staff always seem to be working, when these other employees usually have idle time for chit-chat! The menu at Basil speaks for itself, though-- great food, well-prepared, and absolutely delicious! This place keeps getting busier and busier, and it's all through word-of-mouth; they don't advertise anywhere. I'd recommend this restaurant as a great "casual-nice" place to take a special date or celebrate a family event.
